More About Our Initiative

The Latin American Baseball Classic (LABC) will be held August 6-12, 2014 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The LABC is one of the largest youth international baseball tournaments in Latin America, annually attracting teams from across the region. For the first time in the LABC history, Canada has been invited to participate in the tournament. The LABC has been in existence for 32 years. Numerous future MLB, and professional baseball stars have competed in the tournament. Our goal as LABC Team Canada is to be competitive on the field, and bring a cultural and educational experience to our athletes. LABC Team Canada age brackets include: 12U • 14U • 16U • 18U.

Giving is a big part of the humanitarian and cultural aspect of this experience. LABC Team Canada, in conjunction with our corporate partners, and Beyond the Beach Children’s Foundation, will take down baseball equipment, educational materials and trinkets to give to the Latin players whom desperately need such items. Our athletes will experience, firsthand, what it is like to have little in the aspects of things most of us take for granted in Canada.
