PENTICTON, BC | The final round of Off the Charts Penticton will be rocking the Barking Parrot Bar very hard on Thursday March 26th. The contest is being presented by Spotted in Penticton and Sirf Marketing. There are almost $8000.00 worth of prizes available to be won by the bands. The goal of the contest is to discover who is the top band in the Okanagan. Twelve bands, from a variety of genres, have competed over four weeks to see who has what it takes to make it to the finals. Only four bands advanced to the Thursday evening finale.

The judges will have their work cut out for them, as they have to choose between the four very, talented bands. Kamloops rockers, Full of Excuses (F.O.E.), took Round One by brute hard-rocking force. Kelowna’s glam favourites, Sugar Coated Killers proved they have what it takes to win in Round Two. And Round Three was taken by Kelowna band Wild Son, who charmed the crowd with their funky folksy sounds. The Flu, based out of Kelowna, impressed the judges with their signature sound of an alt-pop assault rifle blasting into the 90’s stratosphere.

The Final Round and After-Party are going to be apex of this awesome music contest. The cover will be $5.00 to experience the four best bands that the Okanagan has to offer! Bands will hit the stage, starting at 7:30, so get there early to guarantee a seat. There will be pints of Molson Canadian for only $4.75 all night long. For more information go to the official Facebook event page:

There are a variety of music related prizes, such as: a guitar package from Leggott’s Classic Guitars, a full marketing package from Sirf Marketing, 10 hours recording time with BiG Audio Productions, an amp and toys from Keslla Music, a photo shoot with Emily Christine Photography, and gift certificates from Wentworth Music, and The Grooveyard. Additionally, the winning band will have the chance to have their music played on eleven community radio stations across Western Canada. There is also a People’s Choice component, where the bands can win prize money.

There will be a crazy amount of door prizes to celebrate the event, as well. The Rock Out Package offers two Tickets to the ultimate, shock-rocker Marilyn Manson at the South Okanagan Events Centre on March 28th. Additionally, you get a room for the night at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. Sounds like a great night to take Grandma out to a show.

The second prize package is the Get Inked Package. Music and tattoos go together like Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson. Penticton’s premiere Tattoo shop Kettle Valley Tattoo Co. is offering a gift certificate towards a tattoo in their shop. Maybe, now is the time to get that anchor tattoo that you always wanted. There are other nightly door prizes to be awarded from: Burger 55, Molson Coors Canada, Inclusive Music, JorDanK Boro and Smartshopper.
